Obama’s Principal For Healthcare Reform: ‘Fix What’s Broken; Build On What Works’

CHICAGO- In his speech this week at the Annual Conference of the American Medical Association, President Barack Obama promised Americans that if they like their doctors and medical plans, they can keep them.

On the other hand, if they are unhappy or can’t afford a plan, his new reform initiatives promise give Americans more affordable options.

Obama also announced plans for initiatives that would streamline the administrative aspects of the healthcare industry, such as upgrading the recording keeping system by switching from paper files to electronic ones.

“All that information should be stored securely in a private medical record so that your information can be tracked from one doctor another-even if you change jobs, even if you move, even if you have to see a number of specialists.

Uninsured to See Increased Assistance From Obama’s Pick For Head of Federal Health Services Agency

WASHINGTON, D.C.- President Barack Obama has appointed Dr. Mary Wakefield, one of the nation’s top rural healthcare professionals, as administrator of the federal Health Resources and Services Administration. The agency serves to deliver services to those who are uninsured or underinsured by the current healthcare system.

“Under her leadership, we will be able to expand and improve the care provided at community health centers which serve millions of uninsured Americans and address severe provider shortages across the country,” said President Obama, in a statement.

FDA Seeks the Nationwide Recall of 69 Tainted Diet Pill Brands

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is alerting consumers not to purchase 69 diet pill brands because they contain undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients that could pose health risks to consumers.

The FDA has inspected a number of unspecified companies associated with the sale of these illegal products, and is currently seeking recalls. The agency advises consumers who have used these products to stop taking them and consult their doctors immediately.
