EL DORADO, Calif.- ImagAbility, a developer and distributor of developmental toys and educational resources, will be launching a new line of products geared specifically for ages one to three. The new products called Weebabus will be stacking and rolling toys designed to help toddlers develop their vertical and horizontal cognitive and motor skills.

The Weebabu product lines will be introduced to the public at the American Specialty Toy Retailers Marketplace this June 14 through June 18 in Minneapolis.

“The forms and functions of the Weebabu products are similar to our WEDGiTS (stacking and building toys, designed for ages three and up), just the materials are different. Our standard WEDGiTS lines of products are made of hard plastic using high impact polystyrene. The Weebabu lines that we are talking about are made of a natural rubber and covered in a non-toxic nylon flocking,” said Rock McKinley, vice president of sales and marketing at ImagAbility.

Flocking is a process of applying short monofilament fiber, such as nylon directly to an object to give it a velvet or suede feel. Among the benefits of coating items with flocking is that it provides users with a non-slip grip.

Part of the inspiration for creating these products was that “we saw the need for such soft and quiet products for the daycare and preschool environments,” said Mr. McKinley, adding that, “we also thought that it would also be a wonderful product for parents that to buy for their toddler to help them build their motor and cognitive functions without the possibility of injuring themselves as with harder material toys.”

The toys are being manufactured in a partnership with Iseo Chemdis, an India-based provider of children’s toys with the trademark name Rubbabu, which are also made of all natural rubber and nylon flocking. The Rubbabu lines of toys include: all forms of vehicles, balls, animals, play sets, and educational toys. The company’s full range of products as well as retail outlets can be view at rubbabu.com.

Similarly, more information can be found regarding ImagAbility’s products at wedgits.com. The Weebabu products are not currently visible on the website. “For our first year (selling the Weebabus), we will mainly have an offering to our specialty toy market. It will be available from major e-commerce sites like toysrus.com, but they will be more commonly found with our specialty retailers such as Lakeshore Learning Materials and Learning Express,” said Mr. McKinley.
